We guide you and your au pair in every step throughout the au pair stay, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. We get in touch with our au pairs and make sure we have all the right documents, including the au pair contract, to ensure they are well prepared for the au pair program.
We screen our possible au pairs carefully and give advice when needed throughout the au pair program. Our au pair academy has great language courses to help your au pair get to know our culture.
We check in by sending a Whatsapp or call, and we’re always available for any questions you might have. We have matched more than 500 au pairs already, so we know what we’re talking about!

It is a big change to welcome a new member to your family. But once your au pair arrives, you will discuss the weekly schedule, expectations from you parents and will align on working hours and free time. The key word here is communication, so keep an open mind and if anything doesn’t go exactly your way, discuss it openly with your au pair.
We will also provide you with some guidelines to discuss your house rules with your au pair, which can include bathroom schedule, screen time with the kids, au pair friends visiting the house and more. Setting some ground rules from the beginning, will ensure you all can enjoy the cultural exchange to the fullest.
Usually the standard process takes around 2-3 months from the intake call to arrival of your au pair. In case of an au pair from the EU this can be much faster, as no visa application is needed, and equally for au pairs from non-EU countries (which are the majority of au pairs coming to Germany), this can take longer, as this depends on speed of the visa process in the local embassies in the au pair’s home country. However, based on your needs in terms of timeline we will work together to find the best option for you and your family.
Because we trust so much in our great matching service, we are confident to offer a very flexible refund policy: if the host family cannot find a match, even after candidates have been proposed and/or interviewed and you like to stop the process, we will refund you any agency or processing fees you may have already paid. Only the search fee will be non-refundable as soon as candidates have been proposed to you, as we have already invested quite some work by then into finding your perfect match.
During our detailed screening process we also dig deep into the background and experiences of our au pairs, to understand what ages of kids they have experience with, where they gained it and how they deal with various situations. This will ensure that we can propose candidates to your family that will match your expectations and needs.
Our detailed screening process involves a thorough background check including police record, references and also a detailed health check (including pregnancy test). We do conduct detailed interviews with all our candidates and check also their motivation in the cultural exchange, level of childcare experience (and if they really love kids!) and their interest in the host country and language. Further, all au pairs coming to Germany need to speak at least A1 German so we naturally also test them on this. So you see, we really know who we are proposing as possible matches for all our families.
An au pair is between 18-35 years old and comes from another country to partake in a rewarding cultural exchange program. They come and live at your house and help you take care of your kids and the household.
First and foremost, you should see it as a cultural exchange and as a wonderful experience for your kids. Secondly, it’s a flexible and affordable way of daycare. The best of both worlds!
In addition to the one-time agency fee of £950 ( 6 months) or £2980 ( 12 months), the monthly pocket money set by the UK government is a minimum of £360 with a recommendation of £480 monthly to be more in line with the cost of living and national minimum wage standards. If your au pair requires a visum, those costs are paid by the host as well and are around £298.
The host family should also pay £35 monthly for courses within our academy and events to enrich the au pair experience. Optional costs of private au pair insurance (£25) and rematch insurance (£45) monthly are advisable. It optional to provide for example travel allowance / gym membership etc.
All of our host families are also required to pay at least 50% of the flight tickets for the au pair.
Do you just want our service to support you with the visum contacts and aftercare, but you have found your own au pair? A self match agency fee is one time €800.
Based on the thought of joining a cultural exchange, an au pair is generally entitled to free board and lodging in exchange for doing childcare and light housework. On top of this, they receive monthly pocket money, to enable them to get to know the culture of their host country.
Au pairs in the UK can work for up to 30 hours per week for their host family. They are also entitled to 4 weeks of paid holiday for every 12 months of au pairing.
Due to Brexit, au pairs can only come to the UK using the youth mobility scheme visa which includes nationals from countries like Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. This visa allows for young people to live and work in the UK for up to 24 months.
We help you during the whole process, from finding a perfect match to the aftercare, guiding you through the visum process and organising events and courses for your au pair. Also after arrival we help with advice in where to register and mediate in case of conflict. You can reach out to us in case of emergencies and we can offer a nice insurance for you!
As part of the au pair program, au pairs are entitled to all meals and housing from the host family. They must live in the same house as their host family and should have a private room with a door, window, bed, wardrobe, and desk as well as access to a bathroom. Their food and living quarters are included if they become sick or are on holiday time.
We were desperate for an extra pair of hands around the house as the boys would finish school a few hours earlier than we would finish work every day! We are a recognized sponsor, which means that our au pair agency must ensure that all administration is in order and that the au pair laws and regulations set by the UK government are complied with. That is a major task because the regulations are complex. In addition, we draw up the necessary contracts, check the documents supplied, pay out monthly pocket money, and support the au pair application.
Once your au pair has arrived, we ensure all au pair arrangements are made and help in applying for health insurance, setting up bank accounts, and getting settled in their new communities. We also offer regular evaluation points throughout the au pair stay to identify room for improvement and ensure everyone is happy during the year.
